"Falling Snow"
See the pretty snowflakes,
Falling from the sky;
On the wall and housetops,
Soft and thick they lie.
On the window ledges,
On the branches bare;
Now how fast they gather,
Filling all the air.
Look into the garden,
Where the grass was green;
Covered by the snowflakes,
Not a blade is seen.
Now the bare black bushes.
All look soft and white,
Every twig is laden,
What a pretty sight!

When I think of snow, I recall my years in Tennessee with my mothers people. Young as I was I still remember either my grandmother or aunt's making what was known as "SNOW CREAM". I sure could go for some now!! I have gotten a recipe for it and here it is below. Since I don't live in snow country anymore if you all make it ..when you take a bite remember this ol gal living in the Pacific and wishing she had some too!!
"SNOW ICE CREAM"
1-3 cups of fresh clean snow(no brown or yellow snow)
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 Tbsp sugar
2-3 drops of vanilla extract
In a seperate bowl mix milk, sugar and vanilla. Slowly add snow to desired consistancy....eat slowly..its cold and ENJOY!!
